Boomers have always been change agents.
We are known for our ability to see a problem and fix it.
It is important that we unite to make sure that the medical system meets the needs of those using it. While Boomers are still young, we must begin to change the system before we need it and are too frail to be influential. Our numbers give us a voice; we must make it heard.

Meetings at which caregivers or recent caregivers can tell their own story and give their own ideas are excellent ways to start building awareness. Share your ideas. All successful change comes from the ideas of the users - the people who are most affected. Together we can come up with the innovative ideas we need to change our future medical care.

Contacts with political representatives are another way to focus attention on this momentous issue. If we band together, we can affect Medicare funding. According to the government’s own Trustee’s Report 2008, this is a bigger problem than Social Security funding and yet it doesn't get as much publicity. It’s time to awaken the rest of the population, so that when money is needed for the Boomers' health care, it is there.
